Rasam Powder / Podi


Rasam Powder / Podi ~ Indian Spice Powder
 
Dear Friends,

Rasam with vodiyallu/chips is my favorite combination. Rasam with hot mashie rice will be too tasty and with ghee to kids… they love it!
Generally we can make rasam with out rasam podi just using black pepper and jeera, but you need to crush them are ground them using hand pounder. But for who go to work and have not much time they need everything instantly done … This podi is an easy option to make rasam with less time.

Ingredients:

Toordal or Yellow Lentils           – ¼ th cup
Dry Red Chilies                         – 8
Cumin or Jeera Seeds               – 1 Table spoon
Coriander or Dhaniya Seeds       – 1 Table spoon
Fenugreek or Methi seeds          – 1 Table spoon
Blackpepper                             – 1 Table spoon
Fennel or Sompu Seeds            – ¼ th Table spoon (Optional)

Procedure:

1. In a Pan dry roast toordal, jeera, dhaniya, methi seeds, black pepper and redchillies evenly for about 2 minutes in a medium flame. Allow it to cool to room temperature.

2. Put in a mixie jar and grind it coarsely.



Podi is ready. Store it in an Air tight container. It will good before six months.
